Farmer-to-Farmer (FtF)
Coordinator
The Training
Advisor is primarily responsible for coordinating and making all project
training related activities more effective. Specifically the TA and FtF
Coordinator handles the following:

Identifies and implements techniques that help in the
systematization and implementation of short-term farmer, development agents
(DAs), experts and researchers training at all levels;

Develops and implements, in collaboration with Amhara National
Regional State (ANRS) partners, competitive criteria for identifying long-term
training candidates and their enrollment in the appropriate local universities;
-
Identifies and develops profile of successful projects and
activities in the ANRS and Ethiopia in general to serve as a guide in
organizing visits across project components;
-
Designs the framework for establishment of inductive training
program for newly recruited researchers in ARARI, participates in the
development of the curriculum and identifying appropriate resource persons;

Identifies, organizes and delivers training related to the
different types of experiential training methods for researchers and woreda
experts;

Develops and implements training evaluation systems;

Prepares work plans and scheduled reports related to
implementation and impact of training;

The FtF being a collaborative program between Virginia State
University (VSU), Virginia Tech, and the AMAREW Project, the FtF program
coordinator manages the operation of the program in the ANRS, including
liaising on regular and continuing basis with appropriate staff of VSU,
oversight of project development, project design, Scope of Work development for
FtF volunteers, counterpart relations, logistics, volunteer assignment and
support, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation, donor/counterpart/host
organization relations, project impact and report writing.
