These photos show the results of empowering individual farmers to reclaim gullies.

Hillside

This photo shows the impact of empowering groups of farmers to "close" part of the hillside to free grazing. The area of closure is clearly visible after only one growing season. Forage "cut and carry" provides income benefits to the poorest men and women farmers of Lenche Dima. Already, the idea has spread to the rest of the community. The rest of the hillside will be closed next year. The practice is spontaneously spreading to neighboring watersheds.
