Experience Summary: Deanne is responsible for all publications and communications for SANREM CRSP, an international agricultural research program managed by OIRED. She writes, edits and designs SANREM's quarterly newsletter; writes for, edits and maintains the website; and contributes to OIRED's "Global University" newsletter. She also writes for, edits and designs proposals, presentations, brochures, posters, research papers and books.
A native of Giles County, Virginia, Deanne came to OIRED in 2007 from the Los Angeles Times, where she was technology editor and had been night city editor and education editor for the newspaper's Orange County edition. She has taught reporting, editing and page design at community colleges in Southern California. Previously, she was deputy business editor of The Orlando Sentinel in Florida.
