Experience Summary: Dr. McMullen is an administrator, educator, and researcher with more than 10 years of experience in international development and education. He has extensive experience in international program development and comparative research in areas such as higher education, political and economic development, legal systems, and health care.
Prior to his arrival at Virginia Tech, Dr. McMullen worked for the federal government, international agencies, and partner institutions with the University of Pittsburgh. He has served as a consultant, educator, and researcher in numerous countries undergoing political and economic transition. In addition to developing international programs for many colleges, he has developed and led programs in countries around the world.
As the Program Director for Education Abroad, Dr. McMullen’s primary role is to develop international programming and provide leadership to Virginia Tech faculty, students, and administration.
