VT Direct

 

Due to the competitive nature of certain sites, VT offers study abroad opportunities at some popular bilateral exchange institutions on a non-reciprocal basis. If you meet the 2.5 QCA requirement and if the courses you wish to take are available, then you can expect to be placed at the site of your choice on VT Direct. Like VT bilateral exchange participants, you will enroll directly in the host university and live and study with local students. 

 

Fees are paid to the VT Direct member institution, not to Virginia Tech. In some cases, Virginia Tech has negotiated special rates for VT Direct participants. Speak with a program coordinator for up-to-date information. Usually, the entire cost of the program must be paid prior to departure, but member institutions will work to accommodate those using financial aid. Fees usually include tuition, pre-departure orientation, information materials, on-site orientation and support, and some excursions.

 

VT Direct fees are listed for the 2005-2006 academic year at some participating universities. Fees include pre-departure orientation, tuition, information materials, on-site orientation and support. Not included is the mandatory national health insurance and the $300 application fee. $250 will be refunded if you are not placed.
