The ISEP Direct Program
Due to the
competitive nature of certain sites, ISEP offers study abroad opportunities at some popular member
institutions on a non-reciprocal basis. This means that
students who apply to be placed at one of these institutions
through
ISEP
Direct, as opposed to ISEP, are much more
likely to be placed. In fact, if you meet the 2.75 QCA
requirement and if the courses you wish to take are available,
then you can expect to be placed at the site of your choice on
ISEP Direct, with the exception of Australian sites. You can
apply for placement at an
ISEP
Direct site throughout the year; you do
not need to follow the listed ISEP deadlines.
Program Fees
An application
fee of $50 is paid directly to ISEP Central in Washington, D.C.,
not to the participant's home institution. ISEP has
negotiated special rates at these universities for ISEP Direct
participants. An additional $50 VT application fee will be
billed to your Student Account. The entire cost of the program
must be paid prior to departure for one semester programs. For
two semester programs, 2/3 of the total cost must be paid prior
to departure. Students must also purchase mandatory health
insurance.
Benefits
Like ISEP
exchange participants, you will enroll directly in the host
university, live and study with local students, and have the
benefits of the ISEP support system. ISEP Direct fees include
tuition, room and board, vacation benefits (room and board
during vacations within exchange period), ISEP information
materials, and on-site orientation and support.
To get more
information or to apply:
One of your best
resources will be the ISEP website:
WWW.ISEP.ORG. You will be able to research all of the ISEP Direct universities
through this website. Our office also maintains current application
materials. The ISEP Membership Directory, also found in the
Education Abroad Office, provides a lot of information about the
various host institutions.
